The Central Library of Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Thiruvalla, was established on September 18, 2002, alongside the inception of the Medical College. Spread across a total area of 10,567 sq. ft., the library is a cornerstone of academic and research excellence. It is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS).
Located within the Academic Block, the fully computerized library spans two floors and offers a seating capacity of 400 users. It houses a comprehensive collection of national and international journals and provides seamless access through an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), enabling users to easily search and check the availability of resources.
The Central Library boasts an extensive collection that includes over 21,000 books, 51 international journals, 68 national journals, 1,573 bound volumes, 450 theses, and 773 CD/DVD resources. Additionally, it provides access to e-resources through databases such as ClinicalKey and DELNET, offering more than 1,300 e-books and 685 e-journals.
To further support academic departments, the institution maintains 19 departmental libraries, each with a collection of 150–200 books tailored to specific disciplines.
The Central Library offers a range of services and facilities, including reprographic services, current awareness services, medical updates, access to online databases, and a dedicated Career Corner. These resources collectively enhance learning, teaching, and research activities within the institution.
